why does the new tundra heating system blow air out of the bi-level vents when its on just the floor or floor-windshield settings

Been discussed many times here. It isn't just the 2020. My 2019 does it as well. It's a Toyota "feature."

I’d be curious to know what year this started in...it is the new norm on Tundras. You can go out and duplicate it on any 2019 or 2020 on the lot. Most stupid thing ever. No matter what vent selector you choose on heat, air blows out of the main vents.

We are doomed to freezing feet while feeling a desert breeze on our faces. It's the government's fault. :(

hi everyone thanks for the answers. I still find it odd that we have all these options when 4 of them all do the same thing

My 15 does it. It seemed all my vehicles in the past have always done it to an extent. Chevy, Dodge, Ford. Same thing with the vents just trickling out with the system off. Although putting it on recirculate does combat that. If I don’t want it on my face I just close the vent manually.
