Question for everyone. I have been to two Toyota dealerships and have been told by both that this is normal for the Tundra. My previous trucks have all been column shifters where as my Tundra is not. When I am putting my truck into park after driving, I run the shifter thru the linkage from D to P and stop. I then take my foot of the brake pedal and the shifter will jump about 1-2 CM's toward the radio/dash and make a pop sound, or you can call it a louder click sound. This happens in inclines, declines and flat surfaces. This happens about 50-60% of the time. Both dealership's have told me that this is the transmission locking into park. When I picked up my daughter from my parent's, I showed my father and he feels this is inaccurate and should not happen, as do I. It does bug me but if this is common for Tundra's, I will have to adjust and get used to it. No, I am not having any problems driving the truck with any of the 6 speeds. Does anyone have this issue?

Welcome...Try using your E brake first then taking your foot off the brake pedal?

I have applied the parking brake before taking my foot off the brake, but it will still jump a few CM's and make the click noise.

It could be that your E brake needs adjusting. My truck came brand new with an E brake that wouldn't hold the weight of the truck. It would do the same thing your talking about until I had it adjusted
