Just got my 2019 Tundra (2nd owner) and it was only beeping when you locked/unlocked. After I got it detailed and the detail guy disconnected the battery, (which I would have told him not to do had I known he was going to do it) the horn now honks when I lock/unlock it. I've tried all the tips and tricks I can find and nothing works. When I hit the lock button the horn changes volume and number of honks until it gets to the beep only but then it goes right back. It seems to have an OEM alarm and a small button that has to be for setting options or something but I just have no clue how to do it, previous owner doesn't know either and no docs or manuals in the truck.

If this is a dealer thing, then I don't mind taking it to a dealer its just an inconvenience.

I know my friend shut his horn off from the info center, under the vehicle settings, if horn is set to on, then he can go through how loud he wants it on the fob, but the on/off is through the info center.

Not sure what year he has,.... I think 18? And not sure if yours is the same?

Found this in an old thread. Maybe it helps?

If you have a dealer installed alarm with the blue LED mounted down near the hood release... there's a button behind that blue LED. First, turn ignition from OFF to ON, wait 5 seconds... then turn it back to ACC. Then, press that aforementioned button three times. You should hear a couple "confirmation" honks. Remove keys, exit the Tundra, and test!

On my 2018 the "honks" returned after the main battery died. Was driving me nuts. Now it's back to just the pleasant "microwave beeps"... ahhhh.

No idea if this works for other Gens, or what the equivalent is for push-button ignitions

Sorry to resurrect this thread. New to me 2016 Tundra here - the honk on lock and unlock is driving me nuts. I’ve been searching on how to disable this to no avail. It’s not in the infotainment options, and I’ve tried the various combinations on things with what appears to be an aftermarket/dealer installed thing down by the hood release.

Anyone have any further things to try or is it time to take it to the shop for removal?

I wish mine was louder. The only option I see on the settings is on or off.
