I just traded in my old baby for a new baby! The first thing that I would like to start on is the audio system. I have a non-JBL setup with the NAV and I am trying to figure out what I need to install myself. Here's what I am trying to accomplish (if possible)...

    • Decent sound. It doesn't need to rattle my fillings out with bass
    • Android Auto, wireless if possible
    • Retain turn by turn on console with google maps (if possible)
    • Retain music on console with google play (if possible)
    • Steering controls
    • Front camera (later)
    • Dash cam control would be cool too.
Any idea of what I will need to get me started?

    Thanks guys!

TRD PRO grille, OCD consol organizers, DIY wireless phone charger, 33" Michelin Defender LTX MS, Bak revolver X2 tonneau, weathertech liners, 20% tints. DIY pop n lock, 2018 LED headlights, morimoto fogs, TRD shift knob, DirtyDeeds 8"BAM exhaust, kenwood HU,JL amp, Tech12volts Tundra full speaker upgrade w/sub, Swing case, and lots of fluid film
Maestro RR will retain all steering wheel controls and you can customize what the buttons do and your oem backup cam.
Most kenwood head units are plug and play maestro compatible.
As far as I know there is no way to retain turn by turn in the little dash screen.
I'd get a kenwood headunit, maestro RR, 5 channel amp, 6.5" component speakers for doors and a single 10" sub. No real need for dash speaker replacements, just disconnect them.
James at tech12volts would be the man to talk to. Check out his website and give him a call or email. He will do you right and he will know if you can run a dash cam thru a headunit and which one of each youd need for that.

While Wireless is a nice idea, I would advice to a plug in unit as when you transfer audio through a wireless unit it is compressed files and you are only getting about 5% of the actual sound spectrum. You will get a lot better/fuller sound transferring your music while plugged in.
