2019 rebates....when will they come back?

Ive been pricing a 2019 limited crew max to buy next month. They just ended the 2k cash back. Does anyone know historically when they might bring a rebate back after the previous one expires. I remember seeing up to 3k off the 2018’s last year.

What region are you in? The gulf states seem to have the best rebates Everytime I look.

Maybe they're prepping for memorial day sales.

Hopefully that is the case. I’m looking to buy the week before Memorial Day so that might work out well

Best time to buy will probably be August or September when 2020s are being shipped to lots. Then you can really grind them on the 2019 prices. Question is how much does 2 or 3 grand mean to you on a 35k to 40k purchase? In the grand scheme of things it isnt monumental IMO.

I’m coming home from a deployment and sold my car before I left so I can’t wait long. End of May to early June I will have to have a purchase made otherwise I’m borrowing my wife’s SUV to get around

Buy a 10 year old honda civic with some deployment cash. You'll want the commuter for after you mod the tundra anyway and end up with 10mpg.

The $2,000 rebate was nice - my dealer even threw in another $500 (but I think it was a veiled manufacturer discount because some other dealers sent me the same robo-email trying to close sales by the end of March.)
$2,000 is real money to me...I'd try to find out if/when it will be offered again.

They currently have $2500 on the Tundra through 4/30/19. Maybe the regional site hasn't been updated. Make sure Kansas Zip is in there cause when I looked it was saying $2500.

The rebates are all smoke and mirrors to draw in consumers. If the dealer can sell it for xx price during a rebate, he can sell it for xx price after the rebate.

I typed in the Kansas City zip code into the link and it said "Contact Dealer". Nothing stating $2500. Where did you see that?
Regarding the comment above that Manufacturer Incentives do not make a difference in the bottom line price when negotiating I think you are wrong. I just went through it last November on my 2018 Tundra and maybe 12 other new car purchases in the past. If you walk in with cash in hand, and don't need the manufacturers financing package, then it makes a difference. But most people have to finance so then the Rebate doesn't mean a hill a beans because they are not getting it. Other incentives are kind of a joke like College Student Discount. You only get the $500 because you need to finance and the juice is going to be more than the $500.

I think he means the rebate just allows the dealer to sell at a higher price and the rebate makes up the difference such that if a dealer will sell a car at say $30k with no rebate - then they should sell at $30k with the rebate that just lowered your OTD price. When I negotiate - I don’t negotiate with the rebate in mind.

I used 66101 and it came up with $2500. Not being from that area I just googled the Kansas City Zip and picked one.

Don't forget the $500 Military rebate you are eligible for as well. And thank you for your service!

The rebates are marketing ploys to get consumers in the door. Very few people at the top of a dealership management chain actually know, down to the penny, what that particular dealer has invested in a unit sitting on their lot....new or used.

Don't buy from Eddy's. That's my only advice. I had a great experience working with the guys at Overland Park though.

it is still $2-$3k out of your pocket that you won't have for other things. Means a lot to me especially since I had to spend that much to make the truck look and ride like I wanted. I bought mine at the end of model year in late August. I was worried the selection would get thin and rebates would go away. Rebates got $500 larger in Sep and inventory was still available for months. Because of TSS the price jumped a fair amount from 2017 to 2018 and I also wanted to avoid it.

Thanks for the heads up. I was looking at Eddy’s as one of the potential dealers.

Jay Wolfe and legends Toyota both seem to have good pricing and good reviews. I’ll probably end up at one of those two dealers

Only out of your pocket if you're paying cash I suppose. If you're financing 30+ grand like most folks do it is probably hard to quantify much of an impact. Shit some people spend 5 or 6 bucks a day on coffee....add that up over a month and then a year....

Ok I just checked the zip which was provided above and the $2500 rebate shows up so Thanks. Regarding the $500 Militaary discount that is tied to either financing or a lease. So you can't have your cake and eat it too. Either to take the $500 and finance or the $2500 and pay cash. Not both.

Regarding the tactic of leaving the rebate out of the negotiating process I guess if it works for you, than fine. But know that the dealer is using it in his mind as you are playing ping pong. You are correct in that the rebates do bring customers through the door. That's why F-150 and RAMs do so well in the yearly sales wars. Who doesn't dream of saving $10K to $14K of the intentionally over-inflated MSRP that the domestic manufacturers set? The MSRP is the smoke and mirrors not the rebates. The upper management of the dealerships don't know the true factory pricing and or profit. They are simply franchises pushing the factory's product.

Or, you can finance and take both the $500 and $2500 and then pay it off with the first payment. If you have the cash that is the best thing to do. If you are financing the truck then he should be eligible for both rebates.

IMHO Internet pricing is the Only way to go! Decide on the specific color and options you want and contact 10 or more dealers, getting them to bid against each other. Ask for written purchase orders. It might take a week of Emails but eventually you'll get down to the best OTD price with no games. In my case I got a fairly local dealer (within 50 miles) to match my best price from a dealer 150 miles away. $500 less than anyone else around. I'll drive a few extra miles for the savings.
Like you said, money in your pocket for other stuff!

Instead of saying he should be eligible I highly recommend that you go to Toyota.com and actually read the "Details" under both the $2500 Customer Cash and the $500 Military Discount. I tried to copy and paste it but Toyota doesn't you to do that. And about taking the $500 and paying it off I guess if you finance a tiny amount so your payment is say $200 they you will save $300 but ding your credit score with a hard inquiry. All that hassle to save less than 3 tank fulls of gas.

Pretty sure a ding against your credit score due to 'hard inquiry' is no big deal when car shopping as it is common to shop multiple financing sources (loans) when car shopping. Really believe it has a negligible impact based on doing so myself. If you're planning to apply for a new mortgage, maybe it would come into play and you shouldn't be buying or financing a new 40k truck anyway?

I applied for a good year credit card to save $400 on tires and of course they had to hit my credit. I checked my credit score just the other day it shows that there was an inquiry but I'm still in the outstanding credit range. Literally maybe had 3 point hit out of 800+ points.

    https://www.buyatoyota.com/centralatlantic/landing/Military/

It says the military rebate can be combined with others offers so he should be able to.

    https://www.toyotafinancial.com/us/en/financing_options/rebate_finance_programs/military_rebate.html

Says it can’t be combined with the college rebate but nothing about the regular rebate so he should be able to get both.
