Is there a trick to get the doors to lock while the truck is running (unoccupied)?

My old F250 would allow this, which was great since my dogs are usually on board. I could leave the truck running with the AC on to keep the dogs cool while I did short time shopping.

Yes, you need 2 keys. Start it up then lock the driver's door with a key, remote won't do it.

I used to do this with my Tacoma. The second key can be a plain non-transponder key too, since you’re just locking the door with it. So a whopping $3? I keep one of them in my wallet since the day I left my keys on the back seat and locked the door with the button.

My remote start on the Tundra lets me keep it running up to 15 minutes without a key, then lock the door. It’s handy once in a while.

Wow!...can't believe it was that simple. Strange though, that when you lock this way the second key remote doesn't unlock, gotta use the key again.
    Thanks for the reply!
