    Hi all,

I’ve got a 2018 Toyota Tundra and I’m trying to figure out the best way to rewire the factory fog lights. Right now, they’re tied to the OEM switch (on the stalk with the blinkers) and they shut off whenever the low beams are off.

Here’s what I’m trying to do:

    • Ideally, I’d like to wire the fogs into my sPOD so I can have full manual control (on/off whenever I want).

    • Another option I was considering is tying them into the DRL circuit so they’d stay on as long as the DRLs are running.
Has anyone done either of these on a Tundra?

    • How did you wire it (relay/diode/etc.)?

    • Can I bypass the BCM/factory relay and go straight to the sPOD without triggering any errors?

    • If I go the DRL route, how do I handle the reduced voltage DRLs usually run at?
Basically, I’d like the fogs to stay on independently, rather than shutting off with the low beams.

Any guidance, wiring diagrams, or “lessons learned” would be much appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

Just wire them to your sPOD, leave the factory harness alone and run new wires from sPOD to the lights. You can have the fogs disconnected without any errors. Then you can just toggle them on and off from your controller.

This would be the best way to go.

Like Robert said, not only do you have full control. You don't mess with the current wiring and avoid any issues.

That's one way, but since he wanted to wire it to the Spod. Most people feel that using the OEM wiring for that is not needed. He can go straight to the Spod and leave the OEM wiring alone.
