Anyone experience an issue where you could not increase the gain on the trailer brake controller? It let me reduce the gain but then won't let me increase it more often than not.

Haven’t heard about that one, but there have been some reported issues with it. There was a TSB, but I’m not sure if it will fix your issue.

This was one of the TSBs for the disconnected issue.
