Good day, I have 110k on my 2018 Tundra SR5 and am looking to possibly move into the newer version. I was wondering if anyone has done this and what are your thoughts on the new tundra? I have had zero issues with mine (I service it regularly), other than a broken gas tank door spring which was a piece of cake to replace.

Aftermarket extended warranty is a hot thing with these new Tundras. We have a Gen 3 Tundra subforum here, you can read why.

Well, this is the 2.5 Gen forum, so everyone will tell you to stick with what you got. Maybe ask the question in the 3rd gen to get their thoughts?

If you don't want to deal with new-gen growing pains, stick with what you have. That and Gen 3's are pretty expensive. With truck lots filling up, trade in is going to suffer. Keeping up with the maintenance schedule, your truck can at least get 10-years, 300K+ miles. But some people just want something new or more update on tech. IMO, there isn't a more reliable truck out there than the Gen 2.5 Tundra.

At 118K, you aren't even broken in yet. As mentioned, once you see the 3rd gen thread, you will most likely go the other way.

I have a gen 2 with 113K miles and looking into 3rd gen at some point. I don't like it, I actually HATE it :) Horrible design, the inside feels crowded, no sound to the engine, lots of issues I guess for a new gen, engines blowing up, but there is no excuse for lack of QA on a truck at $75K +. And lastly I absolutely hate the price. So 3rd gen was big NO for me. I drives drive nice as the entire suspension has been modernized, I will give it that much.

So that being said I made the decision to purchase a 2021 gen 2.5 which I love and I have about 3000 miles on it now :)

    Too many, but not enough....
sounds like your truck has treated you so well, the new truck can do nothing but disappoint you in terms of reliability and problems. As mentioned, there are still alot of growing pains with the new gen. There are 3rd gen guys that have had 0 problems and there are guys that have had major issues, some repeatedly. If you dont care about that and just want something new/fast/techy to have for a few years, then go for it. Personally I bought this truck exactly because it was an old, dated, dinosaur with low tech and features that is just simple and reliable.
