Rear window while in the up position whistles whiling driven over 78 miles an hour if I drop a touch the window then noise got away, makes no sense. Truck has 3600 miles on it took it to the dealer today Mark Jacobs of Toyota where I bought my truck. Told them about the issue specifically at what speed it does it at. They called me about it said they could not find anything wrong with window and technician could not duplicate the sound at 70 miles an hour he could not go faster for it is against the law. What a bunch of crap, I would have been happy to stay and drive with the technician if they needed someone to drive it t duplicate the sound. Very unhappy with that lame answer. Any suggestions from here?

Same situation with my drivers side front window whistles when driving over 70+ worse if in head wind
Sound goes away if window rolled down a touch
Took to dealer they could not duplicate
Suggested window may be dirty and not sealing when up
    Tried cleaning window and trim
    Still whistles occasionally

Silicone spray. I use it mainly on door seals but might help on windows too.

o_O Because you’re getting close to that flux capacitor speed of 88

Jk, Dealer “should” take care of that if they want any referrals from you. Law comment is :crapstorm:

What a load of crap from Toyota...what if you're driving 70 and into a headwind of 8 mph?

With my 2005 Tacoma, I had a pretty loud howl from the top of the windshield at higher speeds. Since it was a first-year truck version, Toyota didn't have any TSB's on it, yet, when I brought it in. Since there was a small gap between the top of the windshield and the truck, I filled it with clear silicone and it never did it, again.

Definitely means something isn’t sealing properly. My guess is some sort of flex at that speed due to the vaccume behind the window?

Regardless, I’d go to a different dealer, speak to the service manager, or call Toyota—and offer to drive it yourself if they won’t go over the posted speed limit. Hell, offer a free case of their favorite if that helps get r done!

check the seal after it rolls up and make sure it has not become pinched or rolled over, My 12 had that issues sometimes if the wind was at just the right speed and direction. the seal that lies flat against the window had been rolled / pinched. If it is rolled or pinched its normally a two person job to fix, one to roll up and the other to keep the seal from rolling. Sometimes it takes some heat to help set the seal back to its original shape. Hairdryer should do the trick, shouldn't take as much heat as a heat gun makes.

    Best of luck

I received the same load of crap about techs not driving over the speed limit, so I drove the tech and experienced the whistle on my passenger side front. After several trips to the dealer without a fix, I opened a case with Toyota USA corp. After several discussions with corp and dealer, corp called and said they closed the case because noise could not be replicated at or below speed limit. I lost my mind with that answer, I asked what speed limit and corp replied any speed limit. I took the case up the chain to point we needed lawyers. After a letter was sent from my lawyer, I received the same response. I dropped it, mainly because the truck stop making the wind noise. At first almost any speed over 65 would produce the noise, a crossing head wind it might start at 50+. Nothing would help initially, then not using the recycled air button would help, now I get zero noise at any speed or wind. Not sure if the truck just "loosened" up some or seals finally sealed but luckily its gone.
