    Hi everyone,
I kinda acted on impulse and bought the Pro Grille and the Hood Bulge for my 2018 CM. I don't plan on using the actual grille part due to TSS, I just want to de-chrome it a bit.

My question is, which I should've asked before buying, is the center black grille portion removable from the surround? Anyone done this and is it pretty straightforward to do it?
    Thanks in advance

Yes it's been done and there's a thread here somewhere.

Yes, it’s been done quite a few times, a few clips and you’re golden.

I've done it, be patient and don't get mad when you break a couple of clips. All the other clips and the 4 screws will hold it in place. If you do break too many clips a little bit of super glue or JB Weld plastic should help hold it in place.

Awesome guys, all very good tips. Will make sure I have some super glue handy.

I didn't use any but I did use a small flathead screwdriver to help pop the clips loose.
