I installed 2018+ OEM LED headlights into my 2017 in May 2018. I wired it up so that the signal high was my DTRL (to match my original 2017 headlights. I'm a fan of the toyota amber bulb for DTRL, vs the white outline on LED lights).

Had a random bulb out (hyberflash) last week and went to change the bulb. Noticed that the 28w high filament had begun to melt the housing and fumes from the melted plastic had fogged up the reflectors! No issues on my end, as it was wired up not as intended and lasted over 6 yrs, but just thought I would throw this out there if others are wired up the same to check your housings.

Now to get a replacement set of OEM HID headlights, or retrofit my old ones w/ the OEM Koito LED projectors i pulled from camry housings off ebay....?!

No, they seemed ok. Replaced while on vacation, so haven't had time to go back and double check sockets. They should be rated for the bulb though

Thanks. Already wired up my own harness how I wanted it (DTRL as the amber turns). But I'll either have to swap that, or get LED bulbs (against all my morals, but may be the only way!9

Are you running the 28 watt filament as you DTRL? If so, there's your problem. The turn signal circuit wasn't designed to be on continuously.

Right, which is why I said I wired it up as not intended on the 2018 trucks. Just throwing it out there, as I know when guys were initially doing this swap, they were doing the same thing.
