Drain and fill every 30k. Don't bother with a flush

I did a flush because I bought mine at 100k miles and wasn't sure when/if the previous owner ever did drain-and-fills. I will be doing drain-and-fills from now on, though.

I bought my '18 at 23k miles last November. I'm just about to hit 35k miles on it.
I'll probably start looking into doing a drain n fill on my transmission soon. Gotta start collecting the items needed.

What does the "flush" consist of vs. drain n fill?

Flush would remove all or nearly all of the fluid and involve a machine that you won't have in your garage.

Simply drain the pan, and refill what comes out, or there's a common practice of adding about an extra half quart over what drained out and then doing a fluid level check procedure outlined in this video:

I'd suggest just sticking with the drain and fill method and doing so approximately every 30k miles or so

30k miles and WS ATF - either Toyota or Aisin, but mostly Toyota WS straight from the dealership. At 212k miles, it's still holding up great with lots of towing and hauling. I did an ATF oil analysis with Blackstone Labs last year and they suggested I move up to about 24k mile intervals, with an extra changes with every engine oil change over the next year. As noted, I do a lot of towing and hauling so I have no qualms with the recommendation for additional drain and fills at this mileage.
