Has anyone else had an issue with the back up camera on a 2017 Tundra ? Not very clear view when backing and even worse at night - I have tried adjusting the contrast and brightness but have not found the "magic" combination of settings that makes it usable

Replace the reverse lights with LED bulbs and you’ll notice a big difference.

I have a 2016, the cameras are not the best quality. You could always replace the stock one with something aftermarket. I added one to my 06 4runner - aftermarket and it is sooo much clearer.

I ended up installing a 18" LED Lightbar right over the trailer hitch but its still easier to just use the mirrors when backing as the camera is just not very clear - I was hoping there was some magic combination of settings that could make it better

Yes the lens is clean and clear - I just notice a HUGE difference in the Tundra picture and other vehicles with back up cameras I have been in

Fuel delete mod Cup holder upgrade
+1 for light. This made a big difference for me as well.

My 18 gives a very clear picture unless the lens is wet or dirty.
Unfortunately, in Oregon, it’s wet and dirty a lot.....:bananadead:

brighter lights does help, but its something i noticed too. big difference to my 16 tacoma. you'd think they'd have upped the quality on the 2021's, but i prefer my 16 tacomas back up camera to the tundras

I think the cameras are broadly similar or the same specs between the two, but the Tundra has a higher resolution screen than my 2018 Tacoma so it looks worse. Its like hooking up a 90's computer to a brand new monitor from 2020

I’m wondering the same. My camera looks like it’s got a piece of dirt or something on the lens but I’ve cleaned it and it’s still there. Anyway to take it apart to clean the inside of the lens?
