    Hey all!

I have an issue in my 2017 Platinum Tundra. I noticed about a month ago, two of my armrests were discoloring. The armrest is discoloring along the edge where the armrest meets the door panel. The black is turning blue. Its not something that can be cleaned off. I spoke with my dealer about it and after them trying to explain it away without even looking at it, I made them look at it. They then stated that is was a manufacturer issue issue and they would order the parts and replace them. Well, it's been about a month since I brought it to their attention. They keep telling me it will be about a week every time I ask about it. Parts have still not arrived. I went in for service today and inquired about the parts, again. I was told that they must be on a national backorder.....??? Then they proceeded to tell me that the armrest pad could not be replaced by itself because it was part of the door panel. Now, I'm calling BS on that. I took the rear door panel off to see if I could get an actual part number off of it and it looks like the armrest pad can be replaced. I could not find a part number while it secured to the door panel and I did not have time to remove the armrest pad at the time. I even checked online parts diagrams and it shows it as a single replaceable part.

I found the part number for the passenger side front door armrest but, I am having an issue locating the rear door armrest part number. The diagrams online show a different style armrest pad. However, The front looks just like the rear pad on my truck. I have attached pics.

Has anyone experienced this issue? At this point, I am willing to order and replace the parts myself. Let me know your thoughts.

I am torn about dealing with this dealer again....not my first issue with them.

I have a few spots, and others have posted areas of black plastic turning a greenish or blue hue. Seems to be stress or pressure areas kinda stretching the plastic. This is the first I've seen that particular area affected.

I don't have that issue on the rests but the plastic is cheap, I do have other spots that have turned green/blue. I've used a heat gun to make those and scratches disappear, can't remember if I added shoe polish or something to tone it out. The arm rest joints should be able to withstand more pressure than what's happening to them, that's for sure.

Damn that sucks! Especially since it sounds like you have a shitty dealer. Hopefully @Roman can assist or do you have the availability of another dealership within close proximity to you?

Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear about your discoloring interior. Do you use a certain type of interior cleaners when detailing your truck? I’ve seen issues similar to this on other vehicles from certain brands of interior sprays.

If you think it is a manufacturing defect, file a warranty claim online. Bypass the dealer.
At $45-58 bucks a piece, they aren't cheap.

None on mine but it's only a couple of weeks since I got it. I did notice that the pads are made of a very different material than anything else in the interior. It's kind of a gummy material. Not sure how long this will last.
