2016 Tundra Brake Controller Not recognized trailer

2016 Tundra 117k miles. Brake controller does not recognize trailer. All fuses check out, the 7 pin harness coupler, all pins test positive. Blue brake wire has current when brake is pressed. All running, side marker and brake lights on trailer work.

 

Did you check/test the trailer? When I hooked up my trailer for the first time I went through a similar experience, which turned out to be a brake wire yoinked out of the wheel. you should be able to hear them click when you supply 12V to the trailer side.

 

I started testing the traiker. I don't hear brakes click. I hooked my truck up to a friend's trailer as a comparison,,,the Brake Controller did Not initiate...so it appears it's no sensing the trailer.

 

There’s an update for some Tundras that addresses this issue.

 

I have an appointment with Toyota service Wed. I will post what they have to say. Thanks for the info.
