What does the 2019 look like

 

Man, that looks really good. I wanna do that, I did black out the chrome and silver piece already. The silver piece around the shifter I carefully scraped with a razor blade (extreme caution is advised) to remove the silver paint. Then I lightly hand sanded with 600, then sprayed clear. The chrome around the cup holders was a b**** to remove but once off I sprayed that with a cleat too.

The 2019 shift knob is the same as the 2016+ Tacoma TRD PRO. Here is mine.

Question on the big ass shift knob. Could the shift rod be cut down, then use a tap and die set to re-thread the rod? I like the smaller Taco Pro shift knob but I'm ambivalent to the shift boot.

 

However @codeZero, I like the way you did yours. Did you do a write up on how you accomplished this mod?

Does that silver piece just pop out? Or you have to take the hole middle console to do it?

 

The whole piece that's around the shifter, it just pops up. The cup holders stay in place as well as the little square pocket thing right in front of the console.

 

The silver piece and the black part that's under the silver piece is all one piece.

Yep. The hardest part, getting the stitching lined up with the corners, if you do that. It's not a have to, but it looks better. Post some pics after you get it done.

 

No. I don’t have a write up. There definitely some cutting of the plastic

 

I cut out the plastic use some super glue to hold the shift boot in place . Haven’t decided to make a bracket for the shift boot to really Secure. Thinking you don’t need to really because there really no tension on it. Then used a rubber grommet to hold it onto the shift knob

 

Will do bud. Of course I’m ganna go with blue stitches.

 

Cookie looks good. Carbon and shifter do too.
