Looking at replacing front dash speakers in a 2015 Tundra, non JBL system.
I've picked out kenwood KFC-X3C to do the job, question is how are you guys wiring it up? Is there an adapter thats used, or do you just splice the wires, and if so which ones?

Are you running the stock or aftermarket HU?

The wiring goes to the side dash then the leads from there go to the center dual coil speaker.
So there are 4 leads in these connectors..
I'm sure you can find Toyota adapters on Amazon to not cut any wiring.
Just make sure you get the correct one.

You could always use positaps and not cut any wiring..

using stock head unit. Yeah I've seen some of the adapters just wasn't sure if I was looking at the correct one. Crutchfield said they don't have adapters and just splice the wires.

    I'll also add;
I have an aftermarket HU with amped 2 way components in the front doors.
I tried replacing the dash speakers but it was too 'in your face' with no way to fade from the front doors.

I ended up disconnecting all 3 dash speakers.
But if you're running the stock HU, you will need the dash speaker to act as mid/tweeters.
The front door speakers on an OEM system only provide mids and lows.

Also, keep in mind the stock speakers are low ohm to make them sound louder with the crappy Entune HU.
Putting an 8 ohm speaker in their place may provide more or less sound.
The center is a DVC 8 ohm, but the side dash are 6 ohm.

As well your front door 6X9s are 2 ohm.

Metra has adapters for like 2 wire door speakers..
Those 4 wire connections may be hard to find, but they exist.

@james@tech12volts used to make replacement harnesses for the Tundra dash, but I don't see them on his website anymore.

You might try to contact him and see if he still makes them.
