Ok....so my 2015 tundra only has 15k mi on it. Stopped by my friends house today who has a pretty steep driveway. On my way up driveway I noticed a hard shift to 2nd on the way up. So I started to back down driveway to start from bottom to see if it would shift hard again. When I was backing down driveway the truck stalled. Started back up no problem and I tried to duplicate it again to no avail. Freak thing or should I take it in? Oh, and truck was warm after driving for an hour so it wouldn't be a cold engine thing. Thanks.

Were you backing up really fast? I had a similar incident happen on my 1st gen a while back when I floored it in reverse. Never had an issue after that.

I had this happen in an Altima a year or so back. Went up a steep hill and let it roll backwards, stalled out on me. Dunno if that helps cause it wasn't a Tundy.

did you put it in reverse or neutral to roll back or just let it roll back in drive?

    ^^ same question here
And unlikely dealer will do anything if they can't replicate.

Thanks for responses fellas. I will get all your questions...The "check engine" light did not trip. I was not backing up fast, actually really slow because of the incline. I was in "reverse". Anybody have their Tundra shift hard into 2nd going slow on an incline. To the point where a wheel skids a bit?

Weird, mine stalled today too. No CEL and had tow/haul on with nannies off and they stayed on, took 3-4 turns to get it goin again, 3500 miles on mine. Rise of the machines- on strike

davesnothere, Ok, first off...apologies for offending every member on this forum but I am not up with the truck lingo yet. What is CEL and nannies? Were you in reverse when it happened and do you plan on taking it in? I didn't take mine in yet just cause I think all they will do is plug it in and no codes will come up. And it will take them 4hrs to do that.

No I don't plan on taking it in, I got ultra gauge and it didn't come up with anything so I don't think the dealer would. Also was at a stop, dashboard lit up like a Xmas tree. Took about 3-4x to keep her goin. Don't know if it has anything to do with Interceptor(tuner) but it has been givin me codes for "fuel system to rich" on the ultra gauge

Did you have less than a 1/4 tank of fuel ? Possible the steep incline would let the fuel slosh away from the fuel pump pick up. ( just guessing )

What Chris70 said, Maybe the fuel couldn't reach with fuel pick up for the fuel pump due to the incline....
