3 weeks ago I drove up to a lake here in the Idaho mountains at 8,600'. On the way back, when I got down to, like, 4500' I opened up a bottle of Dr. Pepper. Well, it grenaded foam and pop all over...mostly down on the steering wheel. Water evaporated, syrup left, and in the last week the control went from spongy to crazy. Now volume goes up or down by itself, even when using the dash volume control. Tried pouring water on it...no result yet. What should I do besides that, or buying a new rig?

    Thanks!

You can try a part cleaner spray like DetoxIT. you can spray into the switch and then exercise the switch a bunch of times...

I'd pull the button out, disconnect it and try to get some isopropyl alcohol in there and see if you can free it up, or buy a new switch.
