I have a 2014 5.7 Tundra Crewmax. Few weeks back it stalled pulling into a restaurant. Started right back up. About three weeks later it started running rough and stalling at lights. Now it starts, runs for about a minute then dies. Gives lean code on both banks. Getting power at the FP Control Module. Removed the fuel tank and tested the fuel pump. Holds 80 PSI of pressure when the line is plugged. However, when I ran the pump to empty the fuel from the tank, the pump ran fuel tilt for about 5 seconds then slowed to a trickle. Hit it again and did the same. My guess is that the pump can build enough pressure to start the truck but not enough to keep it running. Bought a fuel pump assembly and installed it. Still does that same thing just not as bad. Each time I stomp the gas at idle, it sputters. However, if I slowly apply the gas it will run as expected. When I let it go back to idle, after about a minute it will again idle down and cut off.

Wasn’t there a recall on fuel pump? Are you FFV?

No, it's not a flex fuel Tundra.

Did you replace with a toyota fuel pump or one from a parts store? If it's a refurbished fuel pump, the filter could be clogged.

Clean the MAF, and run 2 cans of seafoam in the tank to clean out the fuel system. Id start there.

Check all related fuses as well, fuses can partially blow and not provide enough juice to power the fuel pump entirely.

Also wouldn't hurt to give the wiring a good once over, the soy based wiring is a mouse magnet.

It was a carter fuel pump assembly from Rock Auto. It's doing the same thing that the old pump was doing. I have a fuel pressure gauge at the feed at the front of the engine and I am only getting 18 PSI on the gauge when I turn on the key and when it starts, sputters and runs for 30 seconds before it cuts. off. I tested the blue wire coming out from the FP Module that leads to the tank and got 11 volts with the key on. However, when I tested the red wire I only got 2.4 volts with the key on. I know I should have around 12 at both wires with the key on.

Other than replacing the fuel pump, there is also an ECU/module for the fuel pump. I am betting that needs to be replaced. In past threads with this issue (there are many if you search) the dealers either replaced fuel pump, ECU/module or both items to fix the issue.

You were spot on frichco228. I left the new fuel pump on and bought a FP control module off Ebay, installed it and she fired right up and ran like a top.

Just now reading this but I was thinking fuel pump ecu also. Good chance your old pump was good but you have a new one now.

Pretty sure the ecu is in the back of the truck on the frame rail. It controls power/operation of the pump. Seems that was definitely your issue.
