New to the forum, and hoping y'all might help diagnose. Had taken a 3 hour trip (mainly highway) in my 2012 Tundra and at the end of the trip, all of a sudden the emergency brake light and traction control light came on while driving and the radio died. Truck was still running fine. Drove it for about 1/2 mile to get to a safe area to pull off and turned truck off. When trying to restart, getting the dreaded click, click, click sound. Truck has plenty of gas and only has 100K miles. Never had any other issues. Tried unhooking the battery cable and trying to reset - no luck. Anyone have any ideas?

Bad batteries / alternators cause all kinds weird issues in modern vehicles.

Yeah, doubt it is battery as headlights come on at full power and interior lights all come on as well.

Click click click usually means there’s not enough charge to handle the starter load. You can have enough voltage to turn on the headlights (especially if they are LED) and still be short of the power necessary to crank the engine. A quick trip to your local Pep Boys, Auto Zone, etc for a free battery load test will confirm or deny the issue. That’s the easiest place to start your troubleshooting IMO.

Could be a bad battery or cable as others have mentioned. These trucks behave this way when batteries go bad from age and start to get voltage drop. They also behave this way when the battery cables become corroded producing poor current and poor grounding. Worth listening to the advice you sought here.

Another solution is don't turn the key. No click click click

it doesn't matter if lights work, starter needs way more juice than headlights. The only way it's not battery would be if you just got new one. If it's older one than most likely is the culprit. Try to jump start it
