Sounds like a good truck if the price is right.

Don’t believe everything you read on the internet. The 5.7 liter is a solid engine that has a proven track record. What are you reading are the problem areas?

No issues here and I've put over 100k miles on mine.

    Buy it.

    <----2012 CM 4x4 5.7 w/155k mi.

I’m not aware of any trans issues. Some have had issues with the secondary air injection pump, but there is a bypass kit that you can run if that issues ever arises. If it’s priced well I wouldn’t hesitate to make a purchase if everything checks out well on it.

if every other year had one complaint and 2012 had two, that would certainly be the worst year. Be careful!

Same truck 07-13, 14 was a refresh but still largely the same underneath. Nothing to worry about with “more complaints”.

I have a 2012 platinum crewmax that is heavily modified and carry a lot (prob too much) weight. Lockers F&R and while a lot of overlanding, do all kinds to trails etc. (pin stripes to prove it).
I don't daily drive it, 113k miles and use Amsoil for all my oils.

I absolutely love the truck, no engine issues. Tranny went through a period where it would briefly cut out for "overheating" or something like that, but it was right after a tranny flush. After a little bit hasn't popped back up in the 3 years since.

I should probably have a 3/4 or even 1 ton for the mods I have. However I just love my truck too much, the hundreds of hours of my work on it, not to mention customization (lockers, 4.88 gears, King suspension).

    -My experience.

I put 150k completely worry free miles on my 2012 and it was one of my favorites.
