Call me weird. I like the way my 2012 Crewmax sits but the OEM suspension is toast at 120k. What should I go with?

JMO here but I've taken this truck all over Colorado and Moab trails and hardly ever have a problem. I even have a TF 46 gallon tank under it. About the only thing that ever touches is my hitch. I am not bragging that I do Jeep only type trails but I've done plenty of stuff I probably should not have. Truck width is more often a problem than clearance. Stock height on OEM 20"s with KO2's works fine for me.

I just want a little more plush suspension without leveling or any other lift, or breaking the bank.

    Ideas?

I think you should be looking at what ride you want. Digressive vs progressive. Then go from there depending on how much you want to spend. You could even look at icon, fox, king, ads, and others if you’re willing to lift the front 1”, which isn’t much and wouldn’t be noticeable.

If you like the stock feel, look for someone who took theirs off at low miles and is reselling it.

Thanks Tim, that is an idea as is just buying OEM shocks. I am hoping to get a few specific ideas from others though since this seems to be about the first mod people do on these trucks, usually a leveling kit.

About my only complaint with stock suspension is rear wheel hop on washboard or slightly bumpy roads (gravel/dirt). Of course I bought the truck around 100k with what is probably original suspension.

Bilstein 4600's are nice and won't break the bank (non-adjustable). 5100's give the adjustment advantage for leveling in front if you choose. JMO.

Thanks. I am just starting to look in to this. I haven't priced anything. After a 10 day trip with lots of offroad my truck is more than ready for this and a lot of other maintenance I put off before this trip. Fluids and brakes to start.

You could go Bilstein 6112 fronts and 5160 rears. They can be set at stock height or higher if desired and are real popular among the members on here. I plan on getting 6112s soon but will set them at 1.3 or 1.9” for a little lift.
