My 2012 Regular Cab Work Truck is super basic. No electric door locks/remote entry and for lighting it has a single overhead dome light that only lights when opening the driver door.

I'd like to add some additional foot well LED lights as well as some surface mount fixture LED's behind the seats. I'd like to have them come on when I open the driver door and I'd like to add another switch to turn them on if the passenger door is opened first. It looks like the door switch makes ground for the dome/room lamp? Not sure how I should wire that up except to connect into an always hot wire and tap into the door switch ground circuit? Thoughts?

I'm going to add some LED strip lights to the bed for lighting that up, I'll put that on the circuit with the cargo light or might run a separate switch for them. That should be pretty easy to wire up, the cargo light is grounded and power is what is switched - I should be able to tap into the Brown + wire to that light and be good to go (I'll add an inline fuse). Does that make sense?

Also, I'm interested in adding some remote keyless entry/electric door locks. Any ideas on how to get that done on a budget? Can you install the control units from a wreck? Thoughts?

    thanks for the assist!

Ended up adding the following lights:
    1) (3) LED strip lights to the bed
    2) (2) LED strip lights to illuminate the area behind the seats, I attached them under the trim piece that runs the width of the cab.
    3) (2) LED strip lights for the footwells.

The cargo circuit has a 7.5A fuse and a relay. On my truck it had 2 bulbs in the 3rd high stop light fixture.
I replaced the IC bulbs with LED's and added the 2 LED strips behind seats to that circuit directly.

I ran a dedicated circuit for the lights in the bed - the lights came with their own switch.
The under hood fuse box has some unused circuits, I used a fuse tap to create a power circuit off the unused 30A "Power No. 2" fuse location.
I ran the wire thru the dash on the drivers side where the harness goes thru, large flexible grommet to snake it thru.
I added an LED strip light under the dash on each side for the footwell lighting.
On the passenger side I used the closeout panel and installed it in the recess.
On the driver side there's no such panel - decided to use the trim on the left side of the footwell - it was sized perfectly to run the LED strip along the top of it the full width.
Both strips were grounded to their respective door courtesy light switches which make ground when the door is opened.
I tried to wire them into the power for the dome circuit but was unsuccessful in getting that figured out,...so,
I wired the power directly to the dedicated circuit I ran for the bed lights.
