Hello all! I have been following the forum for the last few months while trying to find my truck. Today was that day. I stumbled upon a 2012 crew max with 150k miles at my local dealership that has been tastefully modified. Sitting on a lift with 35” tires mounted on 20” fuels. Ranch hand bumpers. Spray in bed liner and tonneau cover.

The best part and main reason I bought it, truck has lived its entire life in Texas. There is 0 rust anywhere to be found. Every Midwest truck I found was rusted to pieces. What’s the recommendation to keep it that way now that it’s going to see salt and snow? Looking forward to learning more about my new truck.

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome to the forum. I apply a few cans of Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal Protector to the underside of my truck every Fall. It stinks for a couple days and cures to a tacky finish that will prevent any and all rust. Remove your skid plates (if any), wheels, and spare tire for best results.

Beware there are problems associated with regular short trips. Drive it once a week and show it who's the boss!
