Hello. Just bought a 2011 Tundra. The Radio signal is terrible! All stations full of static. Can replacing the antenna help bring the stations in? Is this stereo just too old? Can getting a new stereo help with reception? This situation is very disappointing. Really want a good stereo. Any ideas greatly appreciated!

If you want a good stereo, replace it. I’m pretty sure if you. Check the antenna wire from radio to antenna you’ll find whatever is causing the poor reception. Loose connection, broken wire etc.

We are not able to check the antenna wires…would have to get someone to look at it for us. It is old and I do not mind replacing it. Do you think a new radio should get good reception?

Pull out the headunit and see if it’s even plugged in

Do you have the factory antenna or is it a short aftermarket antenna?

If there’s nothing you can check yourself anyway, just take it somewhere and have it looked at.

Thanks for the info. I am making an appt to have it looked at. I will probably just get it replaced.
I was asked what antenna I had… if it is the stock or a short antenna. I don’t know what an original antenna should look like. It is a short antenna for sure. Is this an inferior antenna? Anyway I’m getting it all checked out.
I wish I was more capable and could check all these things out myself. I might be paying for a new system when It may just be something as simple as a connection. I just hope in the end I have a good working radio. Thanks for all the information!!
