I have a 2011 Tundra Rock Warrior Pkg and have had some starting issue recently.

About a 2 months ago my truck wouldn’t start, it would click near the starter when turning the key. After replacing the battery, it still would do the same click. Finally after a lot of praying/ swearing, the truck miraculously started. The only thing I did was pull the starter relay out and put back in a couple times. It ran fine and started fine for the past almost 2 months and now is doing the same thing. Only clicks near the starter on key turn. I have a check engine light which shows the error code P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor. Battery is good level.

To add more confusion, my recently licensed son took my truck and went full speed through roads with a foot of water. The truck was misfiring on cylinder 1 so I let it sit and after 4 days it ran fine. No misfire. Could the crankshaft sensor being at the front of the engine have taken a beating? It has been running fine for a month.

Could the crankshaft sensor be bad or is that code related to the starter issue?

would a bad crankshaft sensor cause the engine to not even crank?

    Any help is appreciated.

I would go with your starter is dying. When mine went I got the same code. P0335 it gave me like 3 or 4 grace starts before it left me stranded, and that was jumping the relay and jump starting it with a 4 cylinder. Had to call a tow for a 1/4 mile ride to my house.
