2011 tundra 4wd / knocking issue

I have a 2011 tundra 5.7, 160k. When I put it it in 4wd this morning, the light came on solid but the front tires did not engage. I didn’t realize this for a little while. After removing from 4wd i now have a very loud knocking noise coming from the front end that is consistent and relative to the speed. Any ideas what I’m looking at it here? Front axle? Diff? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
