Well I listed the specs, this truck is just stupid clean IMO, maybe one door ding, one big ding on the roof, but who the hell looks up there, interior looks mint. Only objection is the stupid off road tires on the truck, they fucking suck ass and are stupid loud on the highway. Funny stuff because this truck has never been off road, no scratches on the sides, no dents, no mud impacted on the under side.

Dealer said they'd swap those tires if I was serious. I am damn serious, they have a good price on that truck.

    Well how should I proceed .. . . . .

I'm thinking if they'd swap those mud tires for Michelean tires, knock $500 off that dealer fee, I'd be a happy camper.

Well, bro, I agree with you; seems like a great deal. Now that you just posted on a public forum, you best but that truck first thing in the morning, before someone else scoops you.

He posted elsewhere that he thought the same but gunned it and passed a semi at 95 mph, and he's happy with the 4.6L.

Well that depends on what you’re coming from. Drive a 5.7 and you might not be happy with the 4.6 anymore haha just saying, make sure you think everything through!

I agree the 5.7 is powerful and fun but maybe his pocket won't allow for it.. my buddy has a 4.6 yes I feel the difference and make fun of him (brotherly love) but he doesn't regret his purchase and absolutely loves his tundo. (food for thought)

My only insight is, if you plan to haul I would look for a 5.7. If not, don't worry about these bias opinions from these knuckle heads (all these guys do is make people like me spend more money ) and go with your gut man, it sounds like a nice truck.

I have a 4.6L and love it! I don't do any serious pulling and its perfect for me. I can still burn some trucks on the road if I need too.

Put a deposit down on the truck this morning.

I've been looking for the past week, upped my budget a little bit because I wasn't finding much in that 15-18k range. Trucks in that price range had 90-130k miles on them and were pretty beat up. I've driven Tundras with the 4.7, 4.6, and 5.7 V8, the 5.7 is a real powerhouse. However I was surprised by the 4.6, it felt a lot faster than the 4.7 I drove, I also like that there is no timing belt, so that's a $1000 service I don't have to do.

Yes its a bit more than I wanted to spend, but 55k miles and maybe 1 door ding on the whole truck, its worth it. Haven't found anything close to this clean or low mile for the price.

I also have a 4.6l and don't tow anything. And on Dallas highways i've seen a consistent range of 18-19 (dash says 20,21 but I don't believe that) with my Tundra with no problems with power.

It's a truck, I'm not trying to race anyone so if I don't need it to tow something overly heavy what is the purpose of a 5.7? Just like to move crap for the house without having to ask others or renting a truck from home depot.

    Plus it's really pretty.

BTW, for a 4WD and with that low of mileage I think that's a fantastic deal with everything else checking out OK.

4.7 has 271 hp, 4.6 has 310 hp, almost 40 hp more. That is the difference right there. I just wish the 4.6 was available in many other Toyota models (Tacoma for instance).

I’ve been saying this for ever. I know they put either the 4.6 or 4.7 in the forerunner for a year or two. So you know it will fit. I loved the idea of the Dodge Dakota when it came out.

I think I would’ve been just fine with the 4.6 L. But I have visions of grandeur and hope to get a travel trailer someday.

Well I bought that truck. 2011 Tundra, Navy Blue, 4wd, 4.6 V8, Double Cab with very few options. $20,000 before taxes and bullshit dealer fees, which I felt was WAY under market value, after looking at 5-6 trucks over the past two weeks.

Main thing that sold me was the low miles(56K) and stupid clean condition, interior looked brand new, the navy blue paint had like 1 door ding, no accidents, always dealer serviced, no scratches, very clean. Also I'm a sucker for the navy blue/chrome theme, used to own a 1991 Cadillac Brougham D'Elegance, navy blue, half of that car was chrome plated. Also had a 1999 Camaro Z28, navy blue, LS1 V8, chrome plated wheels.

Man I'm in love, its a damn silly truck. Its silly big, slightly silly impractical for what I'm using it for(hauling trash and bicycles). I know the practical choice would have been one of those cheapie 4 cylinder low rider 2wd Tacomas, but man they look so dorky with the stock 195/65/R15 sized steel wheels and tires.

I'll post some pics Saturday after I wash and wax this huge beast. Its a bit dusty from sitting on the lot and has a bunch of bugs on the front of it from the 60 mile drive home.

My 2018 is the first full size pickup I've owned (previous was a 2006 Tundra, in the 7/8ths category). It will take some getting used to. Parking is still my biggest challenge, I still have to get out and see if I'm lined up prperly and in far enough. Maybe a third of the time I have to re-adjust.

Congrats on finding a cherry example, that in itself is worthy of praise. Back in the day I was looking for a used 1985 Toyota Supra. Hard to find any on the market and those I saw were somewhat abused. Then I found a nearly mint Supra with only 55k on it and virtually new in all respects. I nabbed it and put more than 200k on it. Loved that car.

    You will love this one.
