2011 Rock Warrior to 2019 TRD Offroad

New Member Intro...

Recently upgraded my 2011 Rock Warrior to a 2019 Tundra TRD Off-road. Somewhat of a spontaneous decision as I was looking for a truck for my son when I came across this truck. Way too nice for my kid, but hmm.... Immaculate one owner and he was the parts manager for our local Toyota dealership, so all maintenance has been done on time.

I had considered the idea of seeing who made it longer, me or my RW. It only has 134K on the clock so I know it could go for years but the 45K on the 2019 just make it so this will be the last truck I ever buy.... My RW is paid off and in great shape, I just couldn't get the Cement colored tundra out of my head. Don't get me wrong, I love the way my black RW looks (at least right after its washed) but just fell in love with the cement gray.

I offered my RW to my boy, but he said it's a bit out of his price range and that's with the good son discount.

Looking forward to some tasteful upgrades and am already loving this site and all the great ideas.

Welcome! Good lookin truck! My cement story is similar. Once I saw it I just couldn't shake it. This site is awesome for mod ideas and how-to info. Full of great people. It will however be hard on your wallet.

I've thought about going the opposite direction. If I were to get a different car as a daily (like an IS350 or something), I would maybe trade into an older Tundra, an early 2nd gen that I could treat as more of a specialized build. Right now, my truck serves a wide variety of purposes–tow rig, hunting rig, daily commuter, hauler of work gear, hauler of kids, hauler of lumber/rock/mulch/etc for projects on my property, mildly built off-grid camping rig, etc.

If I got into a 2007-2013 Tundra, one of the first things I'd do is swap in the Sequoia transfer case for full-time 4wd. Unlocked low range is such a game changer when you need it. It would also be more built out for all the hunting and camping we do.
