2011 5.7 Tundra had timing chain replaced after tensioner failure. Trying to figure out what happened. All timing marks on crankshaft, camshafts were lined with chains but I think its out of time. I get P0016, P0017, P0300 is stalls, revs up and down on its own and dies.

I am tearing it down this weekend but want try and figure out how it got out of time when I know I lined up the marks. I want to get it right this time. Any thoughts. Thanks.

When you put the sprockets back on the cams, you need to be really careful that they are on properly before torqueing down the fasteners. This would mean pressing them back by hand and ensuring that the little nub that sticks out is properly engaged. This video is a good reference:

Sensors plugged in? Similar thing happened to me, but I didn’t plug in some connector on the back passenger fuel rail. It had gotten hidden under plug wires.
