2008 tundra transmission

I have a 2008 tundra sr5 and having trouble with transmission after it’s warm. It want shift past 4th gear and vsc light and engine light comes on, took to advance auto and it says D transmission solenoid bad, took to Toyota place and they want to put new transmission in for $5,000 has anyone has this same problem and can’t solenoid just be replaced? Thanks for any help

 

Had the same issue a few years ago. Changed fluid and it cleared up a day or 2 after. Been fine since. I would try that first. If that doesn't work you can also try changing the solenoid. Alot cheaper than a trans replacement.
