I have 204k original owner truck. Just recently i have replaced all brake lines from distribution module back to calipers and also new brakes pads, rotors, calipers all around..
I bled all lines good stream produced and clean. STILL HAVE SOFT PEDAL?
Any ideas as this is beyond frustrating… I have done some research and some are saying possibly ABS has to engage? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated..

I changed my brake fluid and bled the lines but also still felt a slightly soft pedal. My truck is a 2.5 gen vut assuming TechStream has the same options for 2nd gen there is a brake bleeding module that activates the ABS. I followed it and it definitely produced a better pedal feel. You may be be able to get the same results through activating ABS on your own but I'm not sure.

I wouldn't think a hydraulic system would be affected by electronics in that way. However, if some folks are saying that the ABS sensors, etc. need to re-set or whatever, you may find that by disconnecting the battery and letting it sit for 10 minutes or so then hooking it back up may 'trigger' a reset within the electronics if your issue is related to that. :notsure:

Brake fluid lines connect to the ABS module. The ABS system works by controlling your brakes for you which are controlled by the pumping of brake fluid.

Thanks for all info. Original lines still on truck to master cylinder. Could it be bad seals on master cylinder it is original still? If so what do you recommend for replacement besides one?

I recently picked up a 2008 crew cab limited with right at 250k on it. First thing I did was flush the brake fluid, put new pads on (EBC Green), stainless steel brake lines, then did a bedding in process for the pads… Night and Day difference!! This thing stops fast now.

As someone who has been doing the Tundras brakes including new lines and rebuilding the calipers. You need to bleed them until you can pump the brakes enough to stop, go find a gravel road and drive like a madman to get that ABS activating, go home, bleed them again, and rinse and repeat if you arent willing to go to a dealer. 4 bottles of fluid in and after a trip to the gravel I still get air when I come back. Good news is the pedal gets firmer each time.
Just shell out the dollars to get it done at the dealer.

Techsteam has a brake bleeding setting that needs to run. I ran into this on my '07 after the first brake job and had a soft pedal. Activiating ABS multiple times *may* do the same thing, but Techstream is the right way.

Its not too expensive, none of the copies you buy are actually licensed copies. You just want to make sure you buy one from someone that has good reviews and get one that comes with a quality adapter. You need to run it on a laptop. Just look up TechStream on Amazon. You need to be a little tech savvy to get it running.

Hey… If you don't mind me asking… what did you end up paying for your rig and what approximate part of the country did you buy from?
