I have a 2008 Toyota Tundra SR5 that sat for ~10 days. Upon return, once I started the engine, there was an aggresively loud VROOM and an equally loud continuous exhaust. The noise lowered as I changed gears, however any amount of gas made the engine loud again.

It was loud enough to trigger the alarm on a vehicle ~10 feet away.

Do you guys have any idea what could be the issue?

Please lmk if you need any more information.

Check to see if your catalytic converters are still there.

The short answer: The issue is thieving scum, and the fact that they were under your truck cutting out catalytic convertors. Hope you’re insured against theft and vandalism.
