Hey everybody, I'm new to this forum as I just recently bought a 2008 toyota tundra. Looking for suggestions on aftermarket headlights.(preferably with black housings) There are so many options and little reviews. I have heard a lot of good things about the alpharex and morimoto headlights. But I can't bring myself to pay $1k plus for headlights. Do you all have any suggestions?

    Buy once, cry once.

Most of the stuff outside of Morimoto is trash.

    Ask me how I know.

You can always retrofit. Cheaper, but a lot of work.

Well, I have seen some made for my truck like akkon and acanii. They are about $200, but I just haven't seen any reviews on them.

One would think a company would refurbish the original headlights. Replacing just the front lens with a new one and maybe the redo the reflective coating would be enough.

My front headlights were trashed from off-road, AZ sun etc. So I needed new headlights and went with the AlphaRex led ones. At the time they were basically offering the rear led lights for free if you buy the front ones. Going on three years on the truck now and still love them! Yes expensive but worth it!

I can give an honest reply on the akkon / accani lights. The front lens turned to alligator skin within 8 months. Had to be sanded and 2k clear applied. While the light output was decent prior to this, it wasn't worth the hassle.

Nope. Did a set for me and my dad for our Tundras, a set for my Father in laws 2010 Rav4 and my old Cavalier. I'm done retrofitting.

Thank you for the info. I have heard many great things about them. So far, I am leaning toward biting the bullet and going with them.

I really appreciate your input. Mainly because both of those were an option. Thank you for helping me from making a mistake on going with those
