257D91B9-D3EE-4E7B-BF44-33067EB11D53.jpg I bought a Toyota Tundra used so I decided to take it to the shop and get them to figure out why the reverse lights don’t work and they diagnosed it to the neutral safety switch. When I hopped in.. I noticed the park light and drive light on the dash wasn’t on.. So I bought one and a few weeks later it came in so I got underneath the truck and found out the shops cut all the wires and crimped all the wires and some wires are not connected to the right wires.

For example:A green and Black wire is connect to a red wire?

Long story short. I just need a picture of the wiring of the Neutral safety switch to see which one connect to which just to make sure. I haven’t touched it because it still cranked up in neutral.

Welcome to Tundras. What you really need is the wiring diagram. It looks to me that someone replaced that connector (maybe something hit the old one and broke it). If so they could have gone to the junk yard and just got a connector that's the same style. If that's the case then wire colors aren't going to mean much. Or it's possible something damaged the wires above the plug and the guy hacked it back together.

If it was me I would remove that mess and repair it correctly. Those crimped on connectors are not weather tight and are going to continually cause you problems. It might be difficult but I would try to remove part of the harness so you can get enough access to fix it correctly. I don't have the wiring diagram, hopefully someone else has it.

I don’t think he could have replaced the entire harness in 1 hour. No junk yard around here has a tundra a probably never will. I plan on replacing the the connectors tonight. I should have done the work myself. Never taking it to a shop again.

Thank you! Just got it all done and you were not exactly wrong! The shop might have never went to the junk yard but the wiring harness was definitely not the one that went with the truck! I got a paper clips/Multimeter and a wiring diagram and tested each wire to see which one was which. 3 of them were not hooked up right and they were the same color. I soldered and shrink wrapped all the wires... probably the MOST pain in the ass thing I’ve ever done but it was possible and that’s all that matters.
