I brought my 2008 5.7L Tundra in to get a state inspection today. I received a call from the shop with good news and bad news. He told me it passed inspection, however when he went to start it to move it out of the shop.. it cranked and did not start. I had my wife run the spare key to the shop before they closed (I thought maybe an kay/immobilizer issue), this did not work either.

He told me they sprayed some starter fluid in the intake to see if it would fire, but it would not. He does not believe its a fuel issue.

I did as if the immobilizer light on the dash flashes until the key is inserted. What is odd, he said there is no flashing on the dash (I seem to recall this always flashing when there is no key in the ignition.. but my memory may not be correct). The truck died in the shop so I could not get there before they closed.

He is going to look at it a bit more in the morning, but to be honest, I would rather diagnose this myself as he did not seem confident on diagnosis steps (maybe I am wrong, but that's what it sounded like to me).

Since I do not have my truck.. I figured I would post here to see if anyone has had something similar happen to them, especially related to the immobilizer light not flashing?

If he doesn't get it running in the AM, I am going to have it towed back to my place.

    Any help is appreciated.
