I am having a crank no start issue, I have read a bunch of forums saying it could be the imobilizer but when I put the key in the light comes on and then goes off almost right away. My father narrowed my truck and returned it on E I was having this problem before but i could cycle the key a few times and it would start. Now after it was ran really low on gas I can’t get it started at all. I’ve unhooked the battery and let it sit, and I’ve switched the fuel pump relay with another. I have checked to make sure and the fuel pump turns on. If you guys have ANY suggestions at all I would greatly appreciate it. This is my only vehicle so I am not able to get where I need to go. Also it has over 175,xxx for mileage and I live in northern Illinois and it has been a very cold winter this year. Thank you in advance for any help. I would like to also add the only “mods” I’ve done to it in the year I’ve had it is I cut the muffler off and dumped the exhaust out the side right in front of the passenger rear tire

I'm not sure where it's located (it could be a part of the fuel pump and possibly in the fuel tank) but the fuel filter could need replacing. Also if there was any water in your gas tank it could have been sucked up because the fuel got so low and now it's in the fuel line frozen. A mechanic should be able to read what the fuel pressure is and if it's enough if you can't do it yourself.

I have followed an old Army rule to top off in spite of warnings to the contrary and I have never had a single fuel issue on my T100, '04 Tundra and '06 Tundra.

Similar with my 2017. They are reprogramming all 4 of my keys (2 OEM and 2Euro Filp) for free. They only time I have experienced extended crank is with the aftermarket key. They did test fuel pressure and all good for me. You might try another key and /or change battery.

I never let my truck get below a 1/4 of a tank especially in winter here because it gets so cold I don’t want the lines to get frozen but I was using my fathers truck for work and it blew a tranny line so I called him and he said he would use my truck to come to where I was about 25 miles away and when he got there my truck was on E, so I ran to the gas station and put what little money I had in me in the tank and it got me to 1/4 of a tank and then while we were fixing his truck I left it running and we made a parts run and I shut it off at the parts store but I was in there for maybe 10 minuets. I came out and it fired right up and then I left it idleing for another hour or two while we were fixing the truck. The I came home and it sat for maybe an hour and the engine had cooled off and when I went back out to leave again it wouldn’t start. It would just crank and crank and crank. I have owned a diesel before so it got me in the habit of never letting a truck run out of fuel.
