Hi there! This is for my husband’s 2007 Tundra. I have two 3rd generation 4Runners that don’t have anywhere close to the number of “sensor” problems as his truck. His CEL came on last week and our repair guy said it was the air intake code which seems to be common. I have read through the other threads about this problem with the intention of installing a bypass kit, but i saw in a few places online that if it had been addressed or “fixed” by the dealership at any point, then the kit can’t be installed. I’m attaching a screenshot of whatever this is that the dealership may or may not have done, to see if anyone can translate it. Whoever that guy was, he doesn’t inspire confidence.

Its a (Secondary Air Injection Pump) failure there are two AIP's in the Tundra. When the system fails most of the time all of the components need to be replaced. Some people have luck some people don't. If you live in a state that doesn't have emissions requirements then go with this. https://hewitt-tech.com/product/secondary-air-injection-system-bypass-kit-gen-1-v54h/
If you live in a state with emissions requirements or want to be 100% road legal have the SAIP replaced and get this this to add. https://sdhqoffroad.com/products/07...uilt-secondary-air-pump-intake-relocation-kit

    T
he Air Injection pumps only serve the purpose while starting up the engine to pump extra air into system to even out the emissions until the the rest of the emissions equipment is hot and up to temperature. (First 3 ish minutes of start up)

most of the time the failure is due to it sucking up water and junk the relocation kit is to be used with a functioning AIP system to circumvent the poor stock location design of the air pick up.
The bypass kit is to be used to delete the need for the system and make it think its there for "off road use only" ;)
