I have an identity crisis! I decided that I needed a Tundra membership to reap the all the benefits that one can have by being a part of a forum. I know it looks like I have a Tacoma, but it is all tundra inside. So can I be a member? The Tundra looked like this when I bought it. I brought it back to life, so it's cool, right?

I bet that would suck to work on as tight as everything is. Do you pull the cab to change sparkplugs.

Awesome choice! There was someone on this forum (a few weeks ago) asking if anyone had done something like this. I cannot remember the member's name. I am sure he will reach out.

Badass! Bet that thing is fun with the 4.7.

Good luck finding a SC! Believe I saw one around in the last year or so can't remember where though.

I new it! A secret hand shake, huh. Ssshhhiii... I am never going to fit in! LOL. Its is fun having the 4.7. I have stopped a few guys with Tundras and asked them if they would like to see their motor in a Tacoma. They think its pretty darn cool.

A 5.7 into a four door TACOMA I would expect you'd need to go Super Radical,
like mounting it just behind the front row of seats / mid-vehicle mount like the
    original HUMMER.
Into a two door TACOMA I'd say in keeping with mid-vehicle idea, Bed-Mount, as
    forward as possible.

I have test drove 2 second gen Tacoma's with the 4.0 v6. I am not impressed. I may have unintentionally raised and spoiled my expectations of the performance a Tacoma should have. The second gens feel like they are towing a trailer compared to my mini Tacundra. They just do not roll the same. It is like they have an E-brake on.

I had not ever changed the spark plugs on a 4.7 before I put the truck together. They were pretty easy, but... I had worked on the 3.4's before and I assumed that the spark plug sleeves were the same. You know made of rubber and you can bend them as you pull them out. I was wrong. I was down to the last plug on the drivers side in the rear. I could not get the coil pack out. The brake booster was in the way. I had to take the master cylinder loose from the booster pulling it forward out of the way. I was then able to remove the booster and change the rear spark plug. PHEW! That was a little farther than I thought I would go. Good thing the spark plugs only need changing every 100k, or so I was told.

I still need to tie up some loose ends. Clean up the electric fan wires, get A/C lines made, have a shroud made. One of my new past times is driving down the road waiting for the speed to increase from 30 to 45. I will wait for the 45 sign and mash the throttle. It is awesome.

I replaced the 3rd brake light. It is a pain in the .... Since I installed the tundra wiring, I have a unique situation. I have a cargo light and brake light combo. Now since there are no red lens covers with white boxes for the cargo light on a 1st gen, I had to figure out how to utilize the system. I ordered a smoked LED 3rd brake light. The LEDs were all red. I took a spare 3rd brake light and modified it to fit the smoked lens. I then purchased white and red LED bulbs for the system. Here is how it turned out. (1) before pic. DSC00483.jpg(2) After
DSC00484.jpg(3) cargo lights are on. These light up when I unlock the doors. I also have a (ECT) below the ash tray that does turn these lights on and off.
DSC00486.jpg (4) This is the brake light. It is just the center bulb. I wounder what the odds are that I will get pulled over for a burnt out bulb.DSC00487.jpg (5) This is both systems illuminated. The cargo light lights up the bed real nice. Awesome!DSC00488.jpg
