Just bought a new actuator and have removed the old one. I’m new to this but is their two of these actuator’s front and back? This is only one I see on back of transfer case. ??? My 4WD was working last hunting season and the one I removed seems to be functional by looks although housing was cracked (black plastic). Not the aluminum that has fork. Anyway my light on 4hi just flashes and will not engage into 4h anymore to even try 4L. I’m confused by the YouTube vid, said that problem was in 4 Hi but this model only has this one actuator at this assembly not the mirror image of hi and low actuator... does this one only have this one or is their another up front somewhere?? I was quoted 3,000.00 to fix and tutorial seemed simple enough to give a try... so I have and picking up new one tomorrow from Oreillys... believe it’s a Dorman .. also they didn’t ask me if it was a vacuum actuator??? But he said this is it! I was trying to just put the black piece with motor and worm gear etc into the existing mount that works the fork into transfer case without taking all apart??? Is this alright to do??? As said, I’m NOT a mechanic on vehicles just outboards... what in the hell do I do? Install the whole thing forks and all or is there another actuator too containing the 4H or 4L housing.... please help me ... cannot afford a 3,000. Bill at this time during COVID-19 BS
