Hey I'm having a problem with all my dash lights(cluster lights) staying on while driving. I have a new battery and alternator installed already but didn't help. Anyone else heard of this problem before? The truck runs fine, just all the lights stay on. I disconnected and reconnected the battery but all the lights still come back on. Thanks for your help.

You may need to wait til night to check, but does the dimmer dial work to dim, or do they just stay full blast the whole time?

Do you mean all the indicator lights? Like when you put the key in and turn to "on" before starting, and ALL the indicators light to show you they're working, and then you start the car and they don't go off? Or are you talking about the panel illumination? The dimmer is irrelevant in to former scenario.

And as shifty would say, please tell us more about your truck (year, cab style, engine, drive train, significant mods, etc.) so we can better help you

Hey w666 , Thanks for helping me out here. The only time the panel illumination turn on is when i turn on the headlights . so i guess that part is working fine. The problem is all the icon symbol lights always stay on and wont go out until the car is shut off. The only light that doesn't stay on,is the gas light. very strange . Possibly a bad ground wire? I have no idea where to check it for a bad ground.

Can you post a pic of it after its been running a few minutes?
Fuel light runs directly off the sensor in the tank IIRC so that makes sense.

I'm not as familiar with Sequoia, I've never owned one.

Stupid confirmation, but ... Are you 100% positive neither the headlights nor the corner lights are on? With the headlight switch in any mode except OFF, the gauge cluster lights would be on. I'm not sure about fogs in Sequoia nor if they work without headlights.

Have you updated *any* exterior lights to non-halogen (LED or otherwise)? Headlights, corner lights, hell even if you changed interior lights that could be a good one. Anything that would change resistance on the headlight circuit?

Does the vehicle have an aftermarket or dealer-installed alarm?

I hate to go here, but ... Has the windshield ever been replaced, that you're aware of? There's been more than one case of water intrusion into the interior fusebox.

As for new batt/alternator, have you by chance checked the voltage of batt when running to see if Alternator is indeed putting out proper voltage....13-14 volts ?

Not sure it's needed but would you mind being more specific on which lights stay on ?

Similar to what's been mentioned and like our Tundras, Service Reminder Indicators do come on with key in IGN ON but go out, similar to our Tundras, about 6 sec later. The below is from an 06 Owners Manual. Are there more than those mentioned, if so which ones ?

When I had all the idiot light dimly illuminated on my Toyota Surf it was the alternator. New brushes and bearings fixed it.

Hey, I was told that the problem I'm having with all the cluster icon lights staying on ,Could be from the Yaw rate sensor that is located under the center console. I just ordered a new yaw rate sensor from ebay, so hopefully that will solve the problem. I'll get that installed then I will let you know if that solves the issue or not. Thanks for your help.

What was the logic on that one, and who tossed it out there? I looked at the EWD (elec. wiring diagram) for our 2006es
and I don't see how the yaw rate sensor is in any way linked to the 10A GAUGE circuit.

First, look under all over the place under the driver's side of the dash. You should see no evidence any wires have been spliced, i.e. no t-taps plastic wire splices, no extra plastic black boxes or blue boxes, no extra LEDs in/on the dash. First things first, always rule out aftermarket alarm. Sometimes dealerships quietly installed alarms (KARR, SECURIKEY+) which they'd try to upsell people on, and by now, they're failing/failed/dead, and can cause lots of stupid issues.

Second, if you have an aftermarket radio, you'll want to confirm someone wasn't a fucking stupidass, and wired up the illumination lead to the wrong thing. If you have OEM stereo, I doubt this is it, I'd skip. But someone just did something similar on here within the past month.

Third, if your windshield is currently or has every been cracked or you live in the rust belt or you've ever hand your windshield replaced or your driver door seals are mangled or you're missing the vertical exterior windshield trim piece on the drivers side... Occasionally, water leaks can send water down the wire looms along the firewall, straight into the fusebox inside the cab/dash (pics & pics & pics, it happens a LOT). What you see in those pics, the green water traces, is what's typical.

Last, to that point, I'd want to check the wiring to/from the dimmer switch in the dash, and explore the possibility a water leak from another source might've somehow impacted the circuit on the back of the cluster.

I'm saying all this knowing my commentary is targeted at later-year and some earlier-year Tundras, and y'alls Sequoias have a different, cooler looking, awesome dash cluster. But the first three things I point out up there are universally a problem with all Tundra/Sequoia we've seen before, so ...

I appreciate your help. I'll check all that out first thing tomorrow. Thanks again. I hope it turns out to be something obvious
