I am a new forum member. I have occasionally read the forum for many years, but now I’m at the point where I need to create an account and become active.

I am the original owner having bought it new in September 2006.

I never imagined having a vehicle for over 17 years and over 300,000 miles since I grew up in the time where people thought getting 100,000 miles was a damn good vehicle. If only I parked it in the shade for The first 16 years instead of the hot Alabama sun, while at work every day.

mine is a double cab SR5 with the towing package, 4.7 V8 automatic

I can proudly say that this Truck has only broken down one time, and that was the fault of the mechanic who didn’t realize the issue of it occasionally sputtering was simply the fuel pump and not some smog equipment causing it to run lean. Pretty amazing with 302,000 miles. And up until about 250,000 miles almost every problem was just routine, maintenance

I’m joining the forum because as the truck hit 250,000 miles I thought it was starting to wear out. But even now the more expensive repairs I would consider routine maintenance, considering the mileage So at 300,000 miles I had the vehicle inspected thoroughly. Overall, everything was mechanically sound. Although, maybe slightly noisier, the engine seems just as solid as ever. I’ve never had to put a quart of oil in it ever, and have only replaced the valve cover gaskets not the oil pan and it has no oil leaks

so probably a long-winded post but I’ve come to realize that although I thought it was wearing out, everything was pretty normal considering the miles and age of the vehicle and that I’m still better off repairing it over a new vehicle because I still like this truck better than any new one I’ve ever driven.

I now have several issues I’m trying to troubleshoot, and I’m sure this forum will be a fantastic resource The first question I posted I’ve already gotten several helpful responses.

I’m sure this post is Tl;dr but I’m glad I found this forum and look forward to both help and contributing

300,000 miles? Meeeeeehhhhhh. Ya ain't got nuttin' to worry about. Lots of guys on here with 400, 500, 600 thousand miles and running just fine.

My 1997 T-100 is coming up on 280,000 miles and she just purrs on down the road.
