Swapped timing belt on my son’s 2005 tundra 4.7 and now there is a ticking sound that seems to be coming from the injectors. Timing belt was 30,000 miles past due when he bought it. Has 180,000 on it now. Runs great just has an annoying tick. Any ideas on how to fix it ????

My brother-in-laws 06 is doing the same thing after a belt change. He took it into the dealer to have it diagnosed it and they said everything is fine. Maybe he has a cracked exhaust manifold?

Someone said that the timing of the injectors gets off after a belt swap. It has the 2uz-fe with VVT-I. His auto teacher said that it may take a few weeks for the computer to “relearn” going from a stretched belt to a new one throws off the timing. Because everything is computer controlled now and not manually done like the good ole days.
