    Can anyone tell me the best way to check my tranny fluid its shifting a little rough
    ..truck was my parents now I have it. Has 255k runs great just shifts rough...any help greatly appreciated.

    Welcome aboard! Your truck has the “permanently sealed” 5 speed transmission. There’s no dipstick, but there is a fill plug located on the side of the trans case. There’s a couple threads about this and a video that shows the drain and fill / check process.

    Do a drain and fill. Drive it a month or so and do another drain/fill. You will find vids of process on youtube. Lube the zerks in the driveshafts while you are under there.

    Could also be wise to follow the process to check the fluid level, rough shifting can be a sign of too little fluid.

    Too much fluid can be as bad as too little fluid though, so ... don't just go pumping fluid into it blindly.
