I'm currently stuck in the snow at home and can't fully utilize 4wd to get unstuck because at least two of my wheels aren't spinning (the two I can see from the driver side). I've tried 4wd high with and without diff lock, and 4wd low with and without.

The owner's manual says that the vehicle stability control (vsc) system should turn off when center diff is locked. It also says that vsc shouldn't even be active under 15 km/h. So is this not a vsc problem? I know there's a problem somewhere because the "vsc off" and "vsc trac" lights are always on on my dash. Active traction control (atc) system seems to work fine in normal driving (I hear the brake crunch crunch when stopping at icy intersections).

I'm at a loss to what this could be. I'm not a car guy but I assume all four wheels would be slipping on the ice if they were all really trying to get traction. The fact that the two driver side wheels aren't moving at all in any mode is what I'm concerned about.

Have someone checks the other side and see if the wheels are turn. If both wheels on the other side are turning you know the transfer case is sending power to the both propellers shafts and ADD is engaged. If only one rear wheel is turning then your ADD might be the problem, or worst, the transfer case is not engine in 4wd. Booth of your diffs are open diffs, unless you have changed them. Open diff means it will send power to the side (not open to rear, but left to right) with no traction.
