Hi, new member from GA. Just bought a 2003 Tundrastepside with 142k miles. Also own a 2000 Tacoma with 220k miles. Had the Tacoma for 14 years and Ichanged oil every 3k miles. Going to start doing this on the Tundraand wanted to ask should I use the oil viscosity recommended inthe manual or something different to ensure I’m gettingthe best protection and get over200k miles like my Tacoma. Thanks in advance for the help.

You can use what the manual says, or alter it depending on what area you live in. Being in TX I just run 10w-30.

    5w-30 is spec’d in manual.

I use High Mileage Mobil1 Synthetic and change, as you do your Taco, at about 3k intervals.

YZZZD-3 Toy filter is the go to spec and sold in bundle packs for around $4 each online.

Yup. 6.5 qts of the good good. I don't get to drive much so it's a yearly change for me.
