Hey everyone. I’m looking at a 2002 tundra that’s for sale. The owner says he water pump went out n while replacing it he decided replace timing belt. I’m hesitant on buying it cause I’ve been told if timing belt breaks or jumps time it is best to stay away from it. I’m not much of any kind a mechanic but able to tear something apart n put it back together without any left over Parts. Does anyone have advice to help my decision? What should I look for and ask about it. I’m supposed to go look at it tomorrow bout 6pm. Is it worth my effort for a $1000 bucks on a 2002 tundra with 200,000 miles. I do think he’s tried cranking it cause he says he was told it was probably a tooth from being in time. Any and as much help I’d appreciate.
