I’ve got a 2002 Tundra that’s been sitting for a couple of years. Decided it’s time to get her going, but the temp gauge wasn’t moving. So I replaced thermostat. Nothing. So then I replaced sending unit. Still nothing. Discovered after it gets warm if I tap the dash the gauge will pop up to where it should be. Could it be something to do with it sitting? I can pull instrument cluster out if needed. Any ideas for a solution would be appreciated.

That would be my suggestion, if nothing more but to make sure the connectors are all plugged in good in case previous owner was in there changing bulbs or something.

Tapping the dash leading to a response is a pretty good sign it's in the cluster and that'd be what to pull.

But ... You replaced which sending unit? There's two on the V8 ... one for the ECM, and the other for the gauge. Do you have the V8, and if so, which did you replace? What color was it? Where'd you get the part? What part number? (Just curious)
